@Momentmattters in Twitter has been hacked recently. The most that hackers did was tweet some bar soaps they’re selling. They do it repetitively and I know it’s annoying so I took care of it.
There is nearly infinite possible combination of characters to be used as a password, but some people have sheer luck in guessing your password. The prior month as well, politician Mitt Romney’s private email was hacked by just guessing his favorite pet’s name. We should respond to the security questions with utter seriousness because that’s one way people get through your account.
It’s worth the time to think of a strong password, isn’t it? These passwords should be loads more perplexing than SplashData’s list of worst passwords on the internet. Topping it all was “password” as password, which I would love to buy that person a dictionary because clearly he needs more vocabulary. Next to it was “123456” – how lazy can you be? And then there are those who are just fixated to their nursery days by making “12345678” as their password. But, I won’t recommend an overly inert password like “j7%4s(=z@,a+6qz” because it’s also a hassle if you keep forgetting your password.
At the least of it, we have invested time in our accounts; but there are also valuable data at risk. When Linkedin was hacked, the hackers may control the users’s accounts and contacts. Allegedly, millions of data are shed when Sony’s PlayStation Network was hacked in 2011. It halted PlayStation Network’s operation for a month. And for most people, they can be hospitalized when they found out their daily updates are all gone.
I guess there’s money in hacking? Or does it only feed the pride of the geeks that they can breach the multinationals? I don’t know what they’ll do with the account of other people but mess it up; and that would only mean something if you knew the person you’re hacking. However, screwing up an enemy’s account is a great revenge venture.

I’d almost welcome my WordPress account to get hacked. Then, perhaps, the topics posted could gain some interest and I’d get a few more followers!

I have 🙂 All my designs here, and especially the posts are backed up. They are all in my cloud account (again, it’s another account!). How about you?
Well, no! I have a few on my hard drive. Yikes! I must remedy this! And it will be all because of your post. Can anyone get a cloud account, or is it only on your mobile phone?
Just precautions 🙂 Dropbox and SkyDrive are good cloud accounts, I use both of it. They give you free GB’s of storage, and if you want more, you pay. My documents are just in MB’s, I’m good! The thing with hard drives, if it got corrupted or lost, your data are all gone.

HAH! Funny how you and I are connected by this passwords. Just make sure you don’t forget your passwords, because I changed my passwords too one time and then I forgot some of it. It’s annoying, too many questions

I’m not sure there is much to be gained by hacking into any of my accounts. We’ve had some annoying viagra spams go out on my husband’s hotmail account 🙂 Somewhat embarassing, but everyone knows how that happened, so not really. People go on about the identity theft thing, but seriously, god bless the person who dares steal mine. He won’t get too far! haha.

haha! No! But our neighbor was up in arms because it went to her corporate email account and she was stressed about getting fired over inappropriate emails. 🙂 heh.

When I get those emails, I reply to the individual so they know they were hacked. Quite often they are the last to know.
But on the personal hacking/identity theft, remember to check what your insurance covers (does it just pay the bills incurred or does it help restablish your credit and remove the fraudulent info?)
I am not going to promote the company that does the latter here but there are better id theft programs and lesser programs.
The other thing to know is there is more than credit id theft.
Medical theft, someone steals your insurance info and you get the medical copay bills or have the wrong blood type on record.
Legal theft, someone gives out your info and then does not show up at court and you get a warrant for DUI, drugs, whatever and have to prove it was not you. I saw a thing on the news some years back, the same lady was arrested over 8 times in different counties because the police updated their system but it did not update the surrounding counties systems.
Hmmm…maybe I will go look for the email with that video in it.
