Ironing is not boring at all, just make it extreme.
Burnishing an electronically heated flat pan of iron to make your garments unwrinkled – boring! You don’t just stand there. Hey hit-or-miss idea, why not iron your clothes in a zoo, or between pushups, or while hula hooping, or free falling at 53 m/s like this guy.

Or underwater. Right after you wash it, all the while defying the science of electricity. Just don’t let it dry up.

Or even bring your friends, yeah! Ironing sessions, that’s very masculine.

Or at your wedding? It’s a long day, don’t judge.

Or make James Franco in 127 Hours look lame.

Or while leading a skiing squad.

Or on the edge of the world. A peaceful place to iron, everybody needs that.

Wow!!!! Extreme Ironing? This is the first I’ve heard of it but I’m looking forward to seeing what is the most extreme.
I’m glad that you’ve learned that from me. Try it though
I don’t know about trying it. Perhaps I can start off small and then move on to ironing on the front line of a war…. lol
I see another trend developing before my very eyes.
Yeah I hope it’ll be famous. It’s fun to see photos of extreme ironing, isn’t it?
We had that with in our company – our passengers took pictures ironing – while traveled with us. The staff was always allowed to join in. Didn’t know it was a “sport” *smile
People took it seriously haha. Sorry, I didn’t get that, what does your company do? =))
It’s weird though, ironing as a sport I mean. No one from the past could have predicted that
Tried to find some of the photo from our competition over the net, but nothing there – you could win tickets and hotel stays. I worked for the biggest ferry company in the world, Stena Line.
Wonder why nobody has invente “extreme vacuuming” or “Major League dishwashing” yet ?
Thanks for the post. Eye opening….
HAHA imagine dishwashing as an Olympic sport, that’s too exciting. Start the trend then!
awesome pics!
Thank you! What’s your favorite?
the one sky diving. the freedom that must bring. wow
Thank you for this- it put a smile on my face!
Your comment put a smile on my face too, glad that this radiates positivity
I don’t know about extreme ironing, but I used to know a man who said that a sewing machine is a power tool and you can hurt yourself on one so there was nothing sissy about men sewing. (my old phone has a photo of a heavy machine needle through my thumb and it had to be removed at the hospital as it hit bone and bent)
It must have hurt so bad. But that’s awesome, do you still have the photo?
Great photos, just wondering if anyone has done any planking while skydiving haha
They have! Go search for it in Google
To iron is extreme! I hate ironing, I would not lug it anywhere with me!!! The photos were fun!
I hate it too =)) You know how far can people go for fun
Just when it seems like the same old sporting events over and over, huh?
I agree with the extreme vacuming…that is much more enjoyable! Don’t forget, the Canadians made sweeping a Olympic sport with curling!
We’ll see.. ironing as an extreme sport opened possibilities, maybe we’ll see vacuuming later haha
whaaaat in the woooorld….. this just made me lol! thx : D
Yeah, it’s happening within our world =))
Interesting and hilarious……..thanks for the laugh!……up until today, extreme ironing for me was having to iron more clothes than I wanted to….LOL……..thanks for the new perspective!!………..Kim
HAHA same here! Ironing itself is extreme. Nice to hear from you again Kim
Oh. My. Gosh. What will they think of next? I had no idea that ironing could be…extreme! Love it!
Love it too Gretchen! It’s ironing, who would have thought that it’ll be an extreme sport someday
I’m picturing 1950’s gingham-clad mothers standing at their ironing boards with their mouths open in shock!
I can see a crease in the extreme ironing snap!
This has me laughing out loud! Love it!
thanks, my pleasure! 🙂
This will make you laugh: I have always loved ironing. I do our ironing in my laundry room, which I have painted in my favorite color. I paid a high price for an antique, wooden ironing board, because I feel more connected to real people who also ironed, when I use it. I paid another high price for the baddest electric iron I could find so the chore, itself, will be a bit easier.
But I also own several real irons (I mean, non-electric, antique, just the iron, itself, with a handle. And not rusty.)
There is NOTHING like the rush of walking into our walk-in closet and seeing all my husband’s shirts hanging in crisp formation, saluting merrily at me. And there is NOTHING like the rush from putting on a favorite shirt or blouse, all smooth, scented with starch, and polished. I also love meeting my husband for lunch and realizing all the other guys at his work place look like they just climbed out of a dirty clothes hamper, but my guy still looks like the wonder that he is.
I also love realizing everyone knows this gal puts out! Prideful, I know, but hey, I LOVE it.
So, are you laughing yet? 😉
