These cars won’t leave any footprint – in the environment!

The prior month, Mercedes announced their invisible car invention. Invisible automation is science’s breakthrough technology in the coming years, and it’s hard not to love the idea.
My concern with invisible car is safety. Numerous are accidents on pedestrians hit by cars. Imagine it increased because turn off the cars’ visibility – it’s risky and suspenseful to cross the road. It’s like they’ve blinded us and we only have our hearing senses to depend on.
It should not be taken literally though. Invisible car is only a marketing strategy of the ostentatious car brand. They are set to produce their F-cell vehicles in 2014, claiming it as “virtually invisible to the environment”.
The promise is vast – an electric car fueled by hydrogen and emits water vapor as a repercussion. It’s the best economical product I’ve known in years. It thrashed gasoline dependency of motor vehicles, a depleting resource, and used what is abundant to the environment – hydrogen (only the most abundant in the universe!)
It can travel up to 240 miles, the first of its kind, and it’s Mercedes made. I don’t think I’d want to see the pricetag.
But really, this is what invention is all about – making our lives better. And it’s time include mother nature in the equation of our decisions. Gasoline only pollutes our air and even spills in our oceans. Just let it be underground.
Would you drive an invisible car?

Mercedes’ Invisible Car; Discovery News
I have an invisible car. It’s a Bentley Mulsanne Turbo and it’s parked outside my house right now. No-one ever hits it or touches it and it’s always shiny and clean. It cost me 18 gazillion pounds and I might just buy another one for my birthday (which is July 42nd, by the way).
I have to go now, it’s time for my medication………..

Ok that was a good one to bad he didn’t post this for April Fools Day, your would have been one for the books.
You’re just jealous because the voices only talk to me.
I once had a Invisible bike, I parked it outside the store and when I came out it had become invisible.
“…it’s risky and suspenseful to cross the road. It’s like they’ve blinded us and we only have our hearing senses to depend on.” I think this sounds great…being a pedestrian has been far too easy over the last fifty years or so…As to yer questions re: Hydrogen fueled cells…man there is a huge debate online with opinions ranging from completely safe to…not.
Probably the best thing to do is just what we do with everything…start, and worry ‘but the repercussions later.
Nice write…interested to see what you find regarding Gas Vs. Electric/Hydrogen….going green ain’t always as easy as it seems…
Thanks man, your thoughts mattered. Actually, going green isn’t easy for us. It’s unconventional and costly too.
What isn’t safe about electric powered car though?
Know I would past on this all the way. For one the way people drive, they can’t and some one would smash you to death. An once you park the car some butt would park into it or on it. One thing that’s good about it, is you would never be able to see how many dents it has.
Good point! At least there’s no need for physical customization – no one would even recognize it
that was my first thought. how safe can this be?
Well that’s something we will look forward to, when “invisible” cars entered the mainstream of our society
Invisible car ???? For what reason … I thought we bought Mercedes to show off. Glad I don’t drive.
Exactly! All cars do the same purpose – transportation. Only the looks differed. If I will own a Mercedes I want people to see it HAHA.
Well the necessity of cars depend on where you live. From where I am, it’s crazy to own cars. Much like New York.
Yes, to have a car when living in a big city … what a waste on a lot of things really. Don’t even a car in a small town.
Its a neat concept but I a trying to imagine billions of people transporting themselves around the globe invisible to each other. : )
Just imagine lots of car accidents. Invisible cars and road isn’t meant to be
People currently already hides themselves behind tinted windows. Were this to be true, we are further validating our progressive a-sociability. I find that implication of human nature just as frightening as the safety issues.
I’m the one who preferred tinted windows for protection against harsh sunlight, but not too dark. It is indeed frightening how humans veer to individualism. Thanks for your thoughts!
Ya Ya are you out their in invisible car.
yes
This is great! It must have been a joke though, everyone would crash into it!
The idea is great, yeah. The execution is doubtful. Thanks for visiting Dom!

Came across this today, found it interesting. Thought I’d share it with you all and see what you thought. Be intrested to see what everyone else’s feedback is on this.
Thanks Josh, I’m happy that this interests you too!
Love the picture! And the warning against accidents with invisible cars…
The photo wasn’t edited, that car’s test run was almost invisible. Thank you for visiting Gretchen =))
Really? That’s crazy!!
Invisible car? At first I thought you were running behind on your April Fool’s posting…. I’m thinking with all the massive droughts we don’t have to worry too much about extra rain the cars would cause, because they would just be recycling the moisture they were using up… Now, does this invisible car come in super-sized? As in can-carry-7-kids-and-their-parents-too-size? And have you ever noticed anything remotely environmentally friendly or energy efficient is dang near out of reach for the average family income? Might as well get run over by an invisible truck…
Nope this wasn’t an April Fool’s post =)) This is Mercedes though, you know the typical size of their cars. It’s like they build cars for personal use only, not typically for a family trip. We just hope they set the trend so all the other car manufacturers would follow, thus allowing less expensive options, right?
I wish!
I saw honda had made a car a few years ago (not invisible) but electric car fueled by hydrogen, and emits water vapor as a repercussion.
Oh yeah there is, just googled it! Although Honda hasn’t marketed it well unlike Mercedes, considering that Mercedes will just begin production in 2014 while Honda’s on sale already. Thanks for informing Troy (your name is cool I’m jealous)
Struggling with a vagina mobile…
at the same time, enjoy thinking i have contributed to our future on this earth. hard call.
on a selfish note…
hundreds in savings on gas.
feeling guilty..

Just think of the savings on gas, everybody wanted that. Your reblog is appreciated Sam!
I guess no one actually read the story. The car isn’t invisible, it is (as the post notes) “virtually invisible to the environment” due to it’s minimal environmental footprint. When it comes out it will be available in a variety of colors but invisible won’t be one of them. It also doesn’t go 240MPH. The vehicles range is 240 miles.
The appearance of invisibility in the photos above were part of a publicity campaign:
“To promote the car’s invisibility, Mercedes equipped one side of the car with sheets of LEDs that show streaming images captured by a Canon 5D Mark II camera attached to the other side of the car. The car blends into the background, making it nearly invisible.”
No need to worry about being endangered by super-fast invisible cars any time soon . . .
I’m sorry about the 240 MPH, that’s ridiculous. Readers are more occupied by the idea of “cars invisibility”, who wouldn’t? Thanks a bunch for clarying it Greg!
I would love to see us break gas dependence, and don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those individuals who squawk about how we are damaging the earth. It is just getting to the point where economically gas is blowing up everyone’s budget.
I would like to see the price tag on a car like that as well. I’m confident that as the car is produced and gets into the market the price will go down.
It will also be interesting to see what gas companies think of this. I mean if this new car is all that it is cracked up to be, it could at the very least put gas prices back in their place!
There wouldn’t be much demand on gas then so they will be forced to drop the price. Yeah I don’t think I’ve read or heard any gas company speak out about it, but they knew that the resources of their business is running out. We’ll just see what they’ll invest on.
Well whew, I’m glad it’s not a truly invisible car. But I’m with Dale, we need to break our independence on gas and oil like yesterday. As far as the price tag, they need to make it reasonable so that there’s some sort of market for the car from the jump, even if the market is, say, middle-middle and upper-middle class. Let us be able to at least entertain the affordability of such a car.
True that! Although, with Mercedes on the lead, we don’t get to expect affordability. Maybe if the other car brands copied the idea, they will release cheaper models, more options for us. Just think of how much we would save from being gas-free
Brilliant marketing by Mercedes. Thanks for spreading the word about this.
Indeed! Thanks for visiting too
