Robots are smart, encouraging, and supportive; like humans.

From Forbes’ Technology Is “Almost Human,” Children Say,
Children “imagined robots would be socially successful because they were smart. The children also imagined robots that were better versions of their parents and teachers and offered them limitless time and patience. Conversely, they envisioned robots as being machines that would take on boring tasks so the children have more time for interesting pursuits.
“Robots support and encourage, but don’t judge. They don’t run into scheduling conflicts, and they certainly don’t ostracize kids for wrong answers or unconventional thinking.”
This is how children think of the robots in the future – our replacement. They desired better versions of us. These robots can do all the service that friends and parents give to children, but at the same time eradicate all the impatience, judgment, moral teachings and the negative attributes they think a human person has.
Technology is moving towards a future the children wanted. Digital books and online schooling are already replacing educators. Online but solitary gaming in Tablets and Smartphones replaced games that would’ve been fun played with other children. And with virtual assistance like Siri, they’ll have someone to talk to.
But the good and bad of human interaction helps a child’s personality development. They won’t get sympathy and emotions with machines. If we let the children to rule, they’ll grow up to produce robots that will cater to their offspring.
What makes you better than a robot?

So BIG thanks!
I just started thefamilybrand.org a week ago and it’s great to have someone find it. And Like it too. I love the Children are Robots Post and will link to it from my blog (as soon as I can figure out how…)
Also re the Nike post..there is a German artist named EVOL who as a goof on Nike created a Nike sneaker box, with Just Do It on the outside..and inside was a totally deconstructed sneaker. All the bits in little cello packs. And instructions on how to just do it. Ha!
Marie
Ha! That German artist is clever. I guess the whole point is it’s not really that hard to make a Nike shoe to raise the price that high. You are welcome and I hope you enjoy blogging the way I enjoy it, or even much more!
Art Linkletter said it best ” Children say the darndest things”… But remember the admonition “Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it”.
But the point is that they are chldren and they don’t know exactly what they are “asking for”.
This post remindes me of the movie I, Robot. What would happen if the world were populated with robots… could we be complacent to think them only smart enough to complete menial tasks… or are we setting ourselves up for a robot revolution.
And yes… Today’s technology is seperating us from human contact… Just right for the plan of divide and conqueer by the robots of our future.
Just my 2cents
It’s just silly that robots are dominating in the future; but that’s when you think about it. But if you dig deeper, we really are slaves of technology nowadays, much more to be dependent to our machine counterparts – robots. I hope it doesn’t happen.
Well done, I recently did a post on the kids being smarter than we are…..
HAH! Great post. Kids think is straightforward manner so they so sometimes they outsmart us adults. And for me, innocence is a gift.
I like robots as much as the next guy but clearly the robots are making children like them more than us so when they eventually take over, the younger generation puts up less resistance against their new robot lords.
Indeed, robots are cool and children love them. But we humans are still in charge, and we better limit our children’s interaction with robots.
Technology I think is good, its the mastermind behind it that concerns me. It may be cool to have robots but the bottom line is humans have feelings, robot don’t. I have three grandchildren and they play computer games etc and I see them enjoy these things which is OK. But what interest me is when they get hurt it’s their father’s loving arms they run too for comfort and assurance. Who can beat that? Robots? Technology? I doubt.
Humans are simply irreplaceable, especially with our grant of feeling. Thanks for sharing!
