It’s not typical of world leaders to look this good.
Although appealing looks could be an advantage for campaign or for representing a country, it is not a necessary lead of their job description. However, there so few of them they deserve appraisal. Here they are:

Wedding Day Changes Men in 3 Facets
Hurray for strong beautiful women!
Indeed.
There is a lot of research that indicates that in political races the taller candidate wins. I haven’t seen anything that would indicate the same for attractiveness, though in the last presidential election I heard a lot of people, mostly women, comment on the attractiveness of our current president. (There was that New York Times writer who commented on Obama playing basketball shirtless and described the “sunlight glistened off his finely chisled pectorals.” Ugggh!)
I hate to think we have become so shallow that we choose our politicians for something as shallow as physical attractiveness, but this post seems to lend credibility to the theory.
That’s an interesting study. Apparently, height is a factor for which people decide who to vote; when it should have been their political views and outlooks. I’d search for that study, or if you know a source of one I’d be glad to read it.
On a different but related note, I’ve read a study that attractive people have a step foot forward in achieving success. There are better opportunities for them plainly due to association of ingenuity with attractiveness. So in any profession really, politics included, attractive people have better chances.
I was in the minority on my vote!! Hahaha! I have heard that being tall helps for men in positions of authority. I wonder how tall they are….
Thnx for liking my blog! I heard that being attractive is helpful for publicity as well. If the press thinks you are not attractive enough, they will not have you on air as much as the other beautiful candidates. This unfortunately means if you are considered unattractive, it is harder to win.
On the height of leaders….there’s a few pretty good examples of short men who made it into very powerful positions – Sarkozy, Hitler, Bonaparte…..
Good post though and you are right there are some very good looking leaders here – you know you are getting a bit older when you start to find politicians attractive (perhaps with the exception of Thailand?)
