Now that’s fashionable. Great style, groovy artists, era of true icons, classic films and TV, and chilling activities. Plus, people are not yet slaves of technology.
In 80’s people see the best of the Smurfs, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and GI Joe (and Hello Kitty, whatever); heard the best of Madonna and Michael Jackson; and tasted the best of bubblegum flavors. How can we forget the roller skating fad and multi-colored slouch socks (like, really 80’s??). Those are good times.

Mmmm the 80’s sort of when I finally had to grow up, well like I say sort of. 60’s – 70’s more my time but even so some great music around in the 80’s when you could still call music, music.
I honestly envy you. I wish I’ve grown up during the 80’s. Life seems simple and you just gotta love their music. It appeals to any age!

I love the 80s! I’m proud to have been born during an era where the fashion, music, and movies were so bitchn’! I wouldn’t be mad if 80s style made a comeback (sans the mullets and overuse of hairspray).
I also won’t mind if 80’s fashion revives. But a lot of people are hooked to “modern”, they could find it too old. Although it’ll be fun!

I love that year everything about it, the clothing, the music, my little girlfriend and school. Looking back in the year books and saying was that me!. The best time ever, sneaking in to a USC dance on night. Thank you for bring it up, if ever a time machine is invented I’m going.
I would go with you in the time machine. I’d want to experience all those great things about 80’s, and the USC dance!
Yes the USC dance was wonderful, at that time it was a song out title: Call Me and some of the words to it said, hears my number and a Dime, call me. An I and my friends had went over this step a hundred times, we pulled out a Dime and handing it to the ladys we were dancing with. It was about five of us dancing side by side, if you could have seen the ladys face’s when we pulled that off. Wow great times.

I am still in denial that the 80s were 30 years ago – I still have to remind myself to not make my hair big…
Well I want say it was that long ago, you have to count from 1980 – 1989. The big hair is back, so feel proud and hold your head and big hair up high.

The 80’s was great and I miss them, now I have a family and have to feed them. So I started this company called MY LOW PRICE. All my youngest son ask me is, can he pick a video game from our web site. Some times he drive’s me crazy, because he stay’s on the site going through all the video games. Saying man can we get that. Yes please take me back to the 80’s and fast.

Considering I was six when the 80s ended, I don’t remember much. I remember the hideous sequined dresses and sweaters, and the shoulder pads. But the music and TV shows were pretty terrific. By today’s standards, the TV shows are laughable, but they’re not violent.
Funny photo! OMG the 80’s, and in the 80’s we were nostalgic about the 60’s, or falling in love with Adam Ant, and siding with John MacEnroe at Wimbledon (how do you spell his name!).
But the 80’s were preparing the way for the 90’s…and all the things that we are bemoaning now, and every time is as ‘modern’ as it can be…don’t take me back, take me Beyond, and not just, “One step beyond”!

I love the 80’s music and I feel about it the way my parents replayed and felt about their generation of music… now the fashion and big horn rimmed glasses and neon colours are trying to make a comeback and I shudder a bit….

Aaaaah! The only thing I liked about that decade is the music. Everything else was crap!
The best “what if?” quote was from Ruud Gullett just before he lost his gig as manager at Fulham FC.
Reporters busting his chops with hypothetical questions, he finally stopped the interviews with: “What if? What if? What if? If my auntie had balls she’d be my uncle!”
They were wonderful years indeed, just as were the seventies…

Oh my, i couldn’t imagine! I was born in 83 so i was too young to remember the full forces of the 80’s but i think i would enjoy being trapped in the 90’s
I did the eighties in my twenties and I’m afraid I preferred the 70’s and the 90’s… then again, I might not have been sober enough to remember too much from the 80’s !
hahaha! I’ve noticed “Mad Ave’s recent pre-occupation with the extreme fashions of 1980’s. Yup. seventies is about done. Onto next gen. What are the iconic figures of nineties? Oh well plenty of stuff to be going on with? It appeals to those who view 1980’s with enough saccharine. The rest are deemed, little or no disposable income?

Yes there is nostalgia. Happy memories. Like it must have been for the 60s for people who were grown-up in the 80s. It is nice to hold on to happy memories.

I have a photo like that, me and me friends. It seems we were “thirtyish” then. Now that I know we all SURVIVED it, … WHAT A HOOT!!!
I speak of that era of Woodstock, Watergate, Vietnam and its residue to my student peers, yep I still go to university. I’m one of them 40 year seniors.

Makes me feel not so bad about the 60’s and 70’s. And it’s true. The music of the eighties was horrible. It took my daughter (since she recently became a teen) to convince me contemporary music was not dead.

Each to their own…time wise that is. Recollection, reflection, all is part of evaluating where we are today. Thanks for reviewing our lessons on personal money management, that too by design is look at who we are today based upon decisions made in the past. It is said when, it stimulates thought, it motivates actions, your site does that in a fun way.

I miss not being in my 20s anymore…and that there none of these awful mobile phones around! How peaceful bus and train journeys were in comparison. Oh, yes, I miss Billy Idol, Ian Dury, Michael Jackson…and David Bowie most of all.
